Our schools programme goes from strength to strength. We have been working with Milton Hall Primary School for nearly 1 ½ years providing alternative education for children that need a boost in their formal education for one reason or another. This term we are working with an enthusiastic group from Year 5 (9 year olds). We now have a group from Cecil Jones College attending and are enjoying the additional opportunities and challenges that working with 13/14 year olds brings! Last week they went to the orchard, helping with clearing the growth and harvesting apples and pears. We have been working with Anglia Ruskin University to evaluate the programmes and have taken different approaches with primary and secondary school pupils and hope to publish the findings before Christmas. The programme with Shoeburyness High School is very successful, providing a mechanism for pupils to undertake vocational skills training on site that enhances their skills and qualifications.
